Terms of Service
Last updated 23 September 2026.
Draft — awaiting the founder's and a lawyer's final review before this is treated as binding.
1. Who these terms are for
"ScanPrint", "we" or "us" means [Legal entity name], the operator of the ScanPrint service. "You" or "Owner" means the shop or business that signs up for a ScanPrint account. A Student who sends a file to be printed at your Shop is not a party to this agreement — their use of your Shop's page is between you and them, and our Privacy Policy describes what we do with their data.
2. What ScanPrint is
ScanPrint is a print-counter system: a desktop app for your shop's Windows computer, and a server that converts files, counts pages, prices jobs, and keeps the queue. You are responsible for the printer, the paper and toner, and for printing correctly. We are responsible for the software working as described.
3. The payment boundary
ScanPrint is not a payment aggregator and never receives, holds, or forwards money paid by your customers. Every payment link and QR code we generate carries your own UPI ID; money moves directly from a Student's bank to yours. Any Paytm API credentials you choose to connect remain yours, are used only to check whether an exact payment has arrived, and are never used by us to move or refund money. Refunds to a Student are always yours to make, from your own account.
4. Subscription plans and billing
| Plan | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Free trial | ₹0 | 7 days, full features, no page limit, no card required |
| Free (after the trial, or after a lapsed plan's grace) | ₹0 | 300 printed pages a month. Above that the app asks you to upgrade; printing is never blocked |
| Basic | ₹399/month or ₹3,999/year | 5,000 printed pages a month. Above that the app asks you to upgrade; printing is never blocked |
| Unlimited | ₹799/month or ₹7,999/year | No page limit |
Every plan has every feature, including auto print; plans differ only in the number of pages. A "page" is a printed page — each page of a job times its copies — counted over the calendar month in your shop's time zone. Cancelled, expired and refused jobs are not counted. We count pages; we never see what your shop charges for them.
Printing never stops for a billing reason or a page count. Going over your plan's pages only brings a notice in the app. If your paid plan lapses, it keeps its pages for a 7-day grace period, then your account moves to the Free plan automatically — it keeps working, it does not lock you out.
Until online checkout is available in the app, a paid subscription is activated by our team after you contact us (see Contact) — there is no automatic card renewal today. Once online checkout launches, we will describe its renewal and cancellation terms here before turning it on for any Shop.
You can stop a paid subscription at any time by telling us; it will not be renewed, and your Shop keeps printing on the Free plan afterwards.
5. Receipts and tax invoices
You will receive a document for every subscription payment. If ScanPrint's GST registration is complete at the time, it will be a GST tax invoice, showing our GSTIN ([GSTIN, once registered]) and, if you provide one, your own. Until GST registration is complete, you will receive a plain receipt with no GST charged. Invoice numbers follow a single sequence per Indian financial year, as GST invoicing rules require.
6. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your phone number and device access secure, for the accuracy of your shop's rates and UPI ID, and for complying with tax and consumer-protection law that applies to your own business. Set your own UPI ID correctly — we display exactly what you give us.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use ScanPrint to defraud a Student, to launder payments through a fake UPI ID, or to interfere with the service. We can suspend an account for fraud, abuse, or non-payment of a subscription after it moves past the free tier's terms — never by blocking printing on jobs already queued or paid for.
8. No warranty of uninterrupted service
We aim for the service to be reliable, but we don't promise it will never go down. If our server is unreachable, your shop app keeps the jobs it already has and can still confirm cash payments and print offline.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by Indian law, our liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for disputes between you and a Student about print quality, pricing, or payment, except where they arise directly from a failure of the service itself.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. We'll post the update here with a new date and show a notice in the app for any change that affects your rights.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the courts of [City, State].
12. Contact
Questions about these terms, billing, or a complaint go to our Contact page, which also lists our Grievance Officer.
